Hello.. Hi.. Hello.. Hi.. Hi.. A smile and a greeting by a flight attendant. And you are walking between isles looking for your seat. Put the bag up, take the seat, buckle up.

It does not matter how many planes I’ve boarded or how many miles flew. I still get that sense of the excitement every time I’m on the plane ready for take off. Watch a movie, read a book. But in a matter of hours you will be in the completely different place: a different landscape, buildings, weather, people, maybe even language. You can’t wait… after all of that research that went into it: things to do, places to eat, city guides, articles, TripAdvisor comments.

You’re in the cab driving to the city. Looking around, reading new road signs, pumped up, but still recovering from the plane/jetlag/red-eye flight. A quick shower, another coffee, and you’re ready to explore. Ready to go. You are not going to sleep early that night, and not going to get much sleep next day, and day after it…

It is all about seeing new places, meeting new people, learning new customs and ways of living. How much different we are, and how much are the same. It excites me every single time.

I was never great at writing. So I’ve decided to take another stab at it and blog some of the memories of recent and past trips I’ve done. Stay tuned…
